The 4 other Trans-led agencies are Arianna's Center, Transinclusive Group, The McKenzie Project, and Bridging the Gap. I believe the Trans Collaborative Network is also Trans-led but I'm unsure. We are currently piloting our rural Trans health program in Bay County, and folks can get in touch with us through TransSOCIAL's Play Safe Miami programwww.playsafemiami.com. We can only accept low-income clients at the moment, so we have to screen each applicant.
CHOW group discussions are open to all – chef, servers, bussers, bartenders, owners, suppliers, farmers, writers, dishwashers, and industry veterans. Virtual meetings can be accessed from any location, please be aware of the time zones listed.
HARM REDUCTION SERVICES
With the premise of providing new syringes in exchange for used ones, the IDEA Exchange envisions health equity with a mission in increasing access to the tools necessary to keep people healthy, especially those who are most vulnerable.
Operating within the University of Miami, the IDEA Exchange is the only syringe exchange in the state of Florida. Besides its primary function of providing new syringes in exchange for used ones, the IDEA Exchange hosts many auxiliary harm reduction services to reduce the spread of HIV, Hepatitis C, and other blood-borne diseases.

Art as Healing
The heart of our organization is art. Yaya always had a pencil, a paintbrush, or a tattoo tool in her hand. Art was her therapy, her healthy escape, and her way to express herself when she did not know how to say how she felt. The importance of her art was not only about how successful she was becoming but about how her art helped her during her hardest moments. We honor her legacy through her art and share the healing that art gave her.
We now run two Art as Healing programs. These programs are created with our organization and local artists to bring a special, fun, and healing experience to people in recovery, their families, and people who use drugs.

Art as Healing Street Edition
Yaya Por Vida believes in supporting inpatient and outpatient treatment centers that are nonprofit, especially where recovery tools, skills, and programs are limited. Our Art as Healing Rehab Edition works to improve mental health, mood, motivation, and communication through many different art mediums. Students are guided by one of our volunteer local artists for two hours once a month. Each session teaches new art skills and also focuses on themes that help students explore their feelings during their recovery.

Art as Healing Rehab Edition
Yaya Por Vida holds a monthly outreach for our houseless friends in Overtown and Downtown Miami. During this outreach, we provide food, Infectious Disease Prevention and Education care kits, resources, and Narcan with training. We also include our Art as Healing sessions. Our houseless friends rarely have access to healing programs that are made to meet them where they are. Substance use disorder and other mental health challenges can make it hard for them to find housing.
Through building trusting relationships, we learned that bringing more resources than just food and care kits helps support the next step in recovery. Our Street Edition program is a little different. We use fast art techniques that are inspired by street art. Our houseless friends are often on the move for many reasons. We give them a safe space to slow down, breathe, rest, and work on a small tag or drawing that helps them reflect and recharge.
This has led to more open conversations about their challenges, better moods, and curiosity about how to move forward in recovery. Art as Healing Street Edition also gives our volunteers a chance to connect more closely with our participants while creating their own healing art.
Art as Healing Skool Edition
Peer Led Program for Youth Affected by the Drug War
Our Art as Healing Skool Edition is a powerful program made to support middle and high school students who have been impacted by the drug war. Through peer led art sessions, trauma informed care, and peer support, this program gives young people a safe and caring space to process their experiences, build coping skills, and grow stronger.

Art and music therapies are now used along with other mental health treatments. This can help people get better results by giving them more ways to heal. Researchers found this in nineteen ninety nine.
